Accepted English tests: Required for non-U.S. citizens whose undergraduate degree was not taught in English. Carey lists these as "preferred minimum scores": TOEFL iBT 100 (MyBest accepted), IELTS 7.0, PTE 70, DET 130; TOEFL Essentials not accepted. Exempt if degree from an accredited U.S. institution, degree where English was the ONLY language of instruction (per website, transcript or mark sheets), or lived and worked in the U.S. 4+ years immediately before applying. Admissions may request additional evidence.
Other requirements: Application via the JHU university-wide platform: online form, one-page resume, two essays (300-500 words each), one professional recommendation (up to two read), transcripts (unofficial accepted for review), recorded video interview (Kira), USD 100 non-refundable fee. Test-optional: GMAT/GRE up to five years old accepted. Work experience not required but "strong professional experience is preferred". Non-U.S. transcripts require a course-by-course credential evaluation (see Carey international applicants page). International applicants strongly encouraged to apply by Round 3. Only one specialty master's application per round. Formats: 9-month (30 credits, Washington D.C.), 12-month and 15-month full-time, all Fall term; STEM-designated.
