- UCL English Level 1: IELTS Academic 6.5 overall, min. 6.0 each component (IELTS Online accepted, One Skill Retake not); TOEFL iBT taken before 21 Jan 2026: 92 with 24 reading/writing and 20 speaking/listening, taken from 21 Jan 2026: 4.5 overall with 4.0 in each skill (MyBestScore not accepted); PTE Academic 75 with min. 67 each; C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency 176 with 169 in all subtests; also Trinity ISE, LanguageCert, Oxford Test of English, IGCSE/GCSE English, IB. Tests valid if taken no more than two years before enrolment. Exempt: nationals of majority English-speaking countries or 12 months' education in such a country.

- China: successful completion of two years of a Bachelor's degree at a Chinese university recognised by UCL, with a weighted average mark of 90%, considered as an alternative to A-levels or the IB; study must contain subjects relevant to the programme (https://www.ucl.ac.uk/study/prospective-students/undergraduate/courses/computer-science-bsc)

- A-level standard offer A*A*A (A* in Mathematics or Further Mathematics); contextual offer A*AB. IB Diploma 40 points with 20 in three HL subjects incl. 7 in Mathematics (contextual 38 / 18 HL, no HL below 5). Admissions test: TARA (Test of Academic Reasoning for Admissions, University Admissions Tests UK) required of all applicants for 2027/28 entry, fee applies. Gaokao is not listed as an accepted qualification; Chinese high-school students would need A-levels/IB, two years at a recognised Chinese university (90% weighted average), or UCL's Undergraduate Preparatory Certificate (international foundation year).
