Not required if English is your native language, you are a US citizen/permanent resident, or English has been the primary language of instruction for the past four years. Self-reported scores accepted from the Common Application; enrolling students must send official scores.
Other requirements
Admission is to Duffield Engineering, not directly to the ECE major; students take core math, science and engineering distribution courses and choose/affiliate with the major in their third semester (fall of sophomore year) after meeting the department's eligibility requirements (https://www.duffield.cornell.edu/ece/programs/undergraduate-programs). Application via Common App: $85 fee or fee waiver, official high school transcript, school report, counselor recommendation, two teacher recommendations (at least one from a math, science or computer science teacher), Duffield supplement (two essays of up to 200 words and four short responses of up to 100 words). Early Decision is binding; ED supporting materials due November 13, RD supporting materials due January 19. International admission is need-aware; financial aid must be requested at the time of application. No gaokao policy or China-specific grade requirement published.
