- Non-native English speakers (regardless of educational background) must submit TOEFL iBT (minimum 100) or IELTS (minimum 7.5), or request an English Language Test Waiver by 12/15 (detailed outline of academic and professional English experience plus two single-author writing samples from the past two years, at least four pages each, preferably on real estate). Only TOEFL iBT is accepted (not MyBest, Essentials or ITP). The MIT Graduate Admissions listing (https://oge.mit.edu/programs/center-for-real-estate/) also lists Duolingo English Test minimum 135, not mentioned on the programme pages; scores must be less than 2 years old.

- GMAT or GRE strongly recommended but not required, no minimum (scores less than 5 years old); average scores of successful applicants GMAT 680-720 / GRE 155-160; applicants without tests may succeed with a professional background in engineering, accounting or finance or a record of quantitative coursework. "All candidates are required to have completed microeconomics at the college level." "Most admitted students possess three to five years of professional experience in related fields"; candidates with less experience can apply via the Young Leaders Program (up to 10% of the class, recommendations: 2 academic and 1 professional). Required: online application, statement of objectives, three letters of recommendation, transcripts, CV or resume, English test scores (international applicants), Fellow Program and Fellowship Application Form, application fee USD 90; portfolio optional. No interviews as standard practice. About 30-35 applicants admitted per year. 11-month programme starting in early September; deferrals not normally granted. No minimum GPA or China-specific requirement published.
