- TOEFL is the only test named: international applicants must take the TOEFL unless they hold or are completing a bachelor's degree with at least three years of in-person, full-time study where English is the sole medium of instruction in Antigua and Barbuda, Australia, the Bahamas, Canada, Ghana, Ireland, Jamaica, New Zealand, Nigeria, Singapore, South Africa, Trinidad and Tobago, the United Kingdom or the United States. Tests before January 21, 2026: overall minimum 92 (preferred 104), each section minimum 23 (preferred 26). Tests from January 21, 2026 (1-6 scale): overall minimum 5.0 (preferred 5.5), each section minimum 5.0 (preferred 5.0 reading and writing, 5.5 listening and speaking). Scores valid two years; taking the test by December 20 recommended. Some admitted students may be required to complete additional English language work at their own cost.

- Two-year professional degree, four terms of full-time study in residence. Application: general GSD community essay plus any programme-specific essays (prompts only in the application); résumé/CV; three letters of recommendation, ideally at least two from college or university instructors; transcripts from all institutions with certified English translations (WES evaluation not needed at application but required if admitted). Portfolio or work sample optional (most MUP applicants do not submit one). GRE optional; can help balance a lower-than-average GPA or show mathematics competency. Fee $90. No minimum GPA or China-specific rule published.
