How grades are compared
China (PRC) Senior High School Graduation Diploma: minimum normally an average of 85% or higher in each year and in all prerequisite courses, assessed on senior high transcript plus Huikao/APT results (https://www.mcgill.ca/undergraduate-admissions/apply/requirements/international/china)
Other requirements
Faculty of Arts; the China requirements page states that B.A. Psychology requires a separate application (select it specifically rather than general Arts). Arts has no specific subject prerequisites, but Huikao exams are required. A B.Sc. Psychology also exists via the Faculty of Science (Biological, Biomedical & Life Sciences group, math plus two sciences). A B.A./B.Sc. in Psychology is not a professional qualification to practise psychology. Chinese Senior High School Graduation Diploma applicants are assessed on the senior high school transcript (Grades 1, 2 and midyear Grade 3) and all available Huikao/APT results, which must be in numeric or letter-grade format. If Huikao results are only 'qualified/unqualified' or 'pass/fail', or the province does not offer the Huikao/APT (e.g. Hubei), additional external results are expected: ACT or SAT, or final AP exam results preferred (SAT cannot substitute for the Huikao/APT). Gaokao is not required, but if written the final official results must be forwarded to McGill. Minimum is normally an 85% average in each year and in all prerequisite courses; many programs are more competitive and meeting the minimum does not guarantee admission. Deadlines: application January 15, supporting documents March 1 (Major Entrance Scholarship January 21). Personal statements and reference letters are not considered for this program (additional documents only for specifically listed programs). Admitted students must maintain their performance and send the final transcript, graduation certificate and final Huikao results.
