Home Edition) 100 for tests taken before 21 Jan 2026, 5.0 on the new scale for tests taken after 21 Jan 2026; C1 Advanced Grade B (193); C2 Proficiency Grade C (200). TOEFL/IELTS/CAE max. 2 years old; CPE and CAE Grade A max. 5 years old. Exemption: Bachelor's programme taught entirely in English, officially confirmed by the university's central administration. No other tests (e.g. PTE, Duolingo) are listed. Also accepted: CPE 200.

- Other requirements
- GRE required for applicants whose Bachelor's degree is not from an EU/EFTA member state (so required for Chinese degrees); minimum expected scores: Analytical 4.0 / 80%, Quantitative 165 / 90%, Verbal 158 / 80%. GRE cannot be replaced by a GRE Subject Test or GMAT and is not waived for joint/double degrees; ETS code 3331. Course content information: title and contents (keywords) of all courses proving the mathematics and computer science requirements, in German or English, on the ETH template. Two recommendation letters in German or English (academic referees preferred). Motivation letter of about one A4 page. Very good study performance record required. Admission impossible if more than 5 credits of additional requirements would be needed. Programme: 90 ECTS, 1.5 years.
