- How grades are compared
- China: to be considered for a Master's, applicants should have a Bachelor's degree from a Project 211 university with a final overall mark of 80% or better; preference is given to candidates with 85% or better (https://www.imperial.ac.uk/study/apply/postgraduate-taught/entry-requirements/accepted-qualifications/). Imperial states these are the university minimum, not specifically this department's standard.

- UK standard: 2:1 in statistics, mathematics, engineering, physics or computer science. The page states nearly all successful applicants hold a First Class degree, and all successful applicants from outside the mathematical sciences have substantive theoretical maths knowledge. Applications to places 25:1 (2024-25). No interviews. Choose the stream (general or specialist) at the start of the application; cannot list two Statistics streams as first and second choice; specialist-stream applicants are automatically considered for the general stream. Personal statement and two references (one academic); GBP 90 application fee. ATAS not required. 1-year full-time, Department of Mathematics.
