- International applicants must submit official TOEFL iBT or IELTS Academic. TOEFL iBT has no overall minimum; sub-score minimums 15 Listening, 22 Speaking, 20 Reading, 20 Writing (tests before January 2026), or Speaking 4, Reading 4, Listening 3.5, Writing 4 for tests from January 2026 (Graduate School). IELTS overall 7.0. Graduate School accepts no other tests (no Duolingo, PTE, TOEFL Essentials). Scores valid two years. Waiver per programme page if you studied in the US continuously for 2 years or full-time for at least 2 academic years at an English-speaking university in the last five years; Graduate School exemptions include a US bachelor's degree or degree from an English-official country (China not exempt).

- Two letters of recommendation (at least one academic). Academic Statement of Purpose and Personal Statement. Current resume/CV. $1,000 deposit after admission. International students must certify financial support before visa documents are issued. STEM-designated (36 months OPT). Programme page says most students are international, with the majority from China, and the programme enrols 75-85 students a year. No minimum GPA published for general admission (the 3.2 GPA mentioned applies only to the Cornell Early Admit option). GRE/GMAT not mentioned on the programme page.
