Scores valid within 2 years of course start.
How grades are compared
China: Imperial does not accept the Chinese National College Entrance Exam (gaokao) for entry to any of its degrees; applicants may be considered via an accepted foundation programme or an accepted qualification at an external provider (https://www.imperial.ac.uk/study/international-students/information-by-region/east-asia/). Business School foundation minimums for this course: UCL UPCSE 80% overall, 80% Mathematics, 80% in two further subjects; Warwick IFP Science and Engineering 80% overall with 80% in Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science (or the listed Mathematics/Statistics combinations) (course page).
Other requirements
TMUA mandatory (no minimum score; considered holistically); 2027-entry windows 12-16 October 2026 or 4-8 January 2027 (in China, Hong Kong and Macau: 15-16 October 2026 or 8 January 2027). Successful candidates invited to a 20-30 minute online interview with an academic (motivation, analytical thinking, communication; no prior economics knowledge expected). A-level minimum entry standard A*AA (A* in Mathematics); typical offer A*AA / A*A*A (three A-levels). General Studies and Critical Thinking not accepted. IB minimum and typical 39 points with 7 in HL Mathematics and 6 in two further HL subjects. AP minimum 5,5,5,5,4 including 5 in Calculus BC, or 5,5,5 including Calculus BC plus an acceptable school leaving qualification and SAT 1470 or ACT 32. Gaokao not accepted. Delivered by Imperial Business School; UCAS code L1N3; UCAS personal statement required; ATAS not required. 3-year course.
